The term tie in mechanics refers to a tightening system for fastening or tying together elements, such as pipes, cables and objects in general. It is an American invention and dates back about 60 years in the field of electrical components.
The term screw, in Italian “vite”, comes from the medieval term viticcio, which is what helps support vines. Although, in this case, we are talking about plastic screws, it is clear that screws have been used as support in many fields for centuries.
